Hurrah!

It's not lost!

FedEx just called; basically at this second they know its in the uk...... just not where it is in the UK.

So that's alright then.

Boggle!

Aren't they the people who advertise on TV how they know where your parcel is every moment of its journey?

Hmmm.
Reminds me of the time I sent my passport to the UK from Germany to get a visa. I sent it by a reliable German courier with tracking facility, blissfully unaware that as soon as it landed the other side of the Channel it was handed over to... Parcelforce. Who immediately lost it.
I ended up on the phone to people in the warehouse while they looked under machines for it.
Some time later they found it, but not in time to get the visa and have it sent back. Since I couldn't leave Germany (no passport, doh!) I had to pay for flights and hotel for a colleague of mine to travel to London from Germany to fetch it for me.
Useless tossers the lot of them.

At least if they had properly spannered it or lost it, then you'd have reasonable grounds for a claim...

I don't suppose they'll admit its lostness for days. In the meantime I have a serious lack of web servers. However, my heroes at www.merula.net (http://www.merula.net) have come up with a spare box, innarack. It's not very fast, but it does work, and [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger is fettling it over the ether as I speak.

And I've just put in a leasing application to buy a fuckoff replacement.

However, I can well do without all this hassle - I'm exhausted.
