getting better all the time

perlmonger and I sallied forth last night to see Richard Thompson in Bristol - probably the best set I’ve ever seen him play, and I’ve seen a few.

opened with a stonking version of Tear Stained Letter, then worked variously through most of the new album, together with some old favourites, including Bright Lights, a beautiful rendition of Vincent Black Lightning, Crawl Back and many more. Just over two hours of wonderful, wonderful music, with Danny Thompson on bass (it wouldn’t really be the same without him :) Glorious stuff.
