panic ...

last Saturday, we spent six hours or so putting together a proposal for the remake of a plc's web site, with no real expectation of anything coming of it. It was a real rush job for the guy who would be project managing a complete corporate rebrand if his team won the bid, and he was at pains to point out that it was all very speculative but, though I say so myself, we did a highly professional proposal - it had headers and footers and screenshots and everything. Today I hear that the team is down to a shortlist of two, and is to make a corporate presentation in London next Thursday, and they will need me there to do the web side of things [scream].

and today I bashed out another proposal for someone else, for YetMoreOfTheSame content management, weighing in at a bouncing £8k. And the contract for the Eye is signed and in. And the magnum opus site is still not finished, due to all sorts of political shenanigans.

I need to clone myself ...

Take deep breaths. It'll be fine. You wouldn't have so much on your plate if you weren't damn good at what you do!

[wail] but I've got nothing to wear ....

Dead easy. Send the clone to Oxford Street. You stay at home and do the coding.

Well, if there's anything I can do in my "days off", even if it's just testing, do yell...

I have a meeting with the boss of a small printing company on Sunday. Looks like I'm going to be doing a small site for them and possibly more with some of their clients who occasionally ask for sites to be done. And the "magnum opus" I did as part of the current contract has been generating some favourable comment and possible leads for more work. Looks like I might not get as much time boating over the summer as I thought...
