I have just had to send them this e-mail:
I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am with your service. I ordered 1 dozen red roses for my husband for our wedding anniversary, with a card, on 2nd June, expecting them to be delivered on Thursday 3 June.
they didn't turn up, and unfortunately I was out all day on Friday. They didn't turn up then either.
this morning (Saturday 5 June), Citylink delivered a bouquet from yourselves. It was in a box, marked "deliver Monday, please keep safe". It contained no red roses, but a bouquet of mixed flowers. It contained no card. The flowers inside are very tired.
it's fair to assume that if someone orders red roses, they're usually pretty important. It's overdoing it to say that you've spoiled our wedding anniversary, but you've certainly caused me extreme disappointment and hurt. And clearly you have failed to fulfil your contract.
please confirm that you will be crediting my Mastercard in full.

Obviously a florist in Perry, Georgia will not be particularly useful to you (unless you want to send my stepmother flowers), but I'll be more tempted to use a local florist from now on.
Local florists rock!
I always try to find a florist local to the person I'm sending the flowers to, and then call them up and discuss the arrangement.
In a previous year my girlfriend of the time and I had a special song by Suzanne Vega ... my girlfriend was the guest at a convention in Canada and I phoned a local florist and said "send 100 dollars (canadian) of flowers and a box of caramels" and they did a brilliant job bringing in (I'm told) five bouquets and the caramels. She was very impressed!
And this year, to make sure the valentines flowers got through on time, I phoned two different florists and ordered an arrantement from each. And the second one was to be from my girlfriend's dog (soppy, eh?) and so I asked them to include a dog toy with the arrangement and to put on the note "if you don't want the toy, can I have it?" and signed by the dog! That was wonderfully received and now Sammy has a small stuffed puppy as a dog toy!
