I was a tad uneasy last night, as Liessa wasn't home. Even if she isn't in when we go to bed, she always arrives before we go to sleep, and somehow I had a feeling that things weren't right.
just before midnight, we woke to see this poor little creature, fur spiked with mud and fine grit. We can only assume that she fell in the fish pond (although there's no sign of any disturbance this morning), and she was very frightened, not to mention soggy.
so we ran a lukewarm bath, and
perlmonger very bravely scruffed her, while I sluiced her down with water, then we wrapped her in a towel. She hates being held, but she snuggled into the towel while we dried her.
then we set her at the foot of the bed, where she stayed for the rest of the night, having sporadic coughing episodes - I guess she ingested a fair bit of pond water. I gave her a good brushing at about 6 a.m. this morning to get the grit out of her fur, and she seems a lot better now.
poor Bada Ning ...
