Don't _quite_ go back as far as having seen Family live, but can certainly own up to Vinegar Joe. Always had a thing about Elkie Brooks back then. Didn't sit through the monobrowed non-singing Antichrist de Burgh's set though; wouldn't wish to inflict Spanish Train and Other Stories on my worst enemies.

Hey, we have five more in common even not counting the five you got off my list! Though three of them are Show of Hands, Phil Beer and Steve Knightley, so I'm not entirely sure that counts... (the other two are the Chieftains and the Strawbs).

I lived in Leicester in the 70s, and saw Family loads of times (they were a local band). I was even at their farewell concert [sob]. Still play their stuff a lot.

to be fair, in the past six months we've seen Show of Hands at Trowbridge and at St George's, Bristol, Phil Beer at the Folk House in Bristol, and Nailsea Festival, and Steve Knightly with Martyn Joseph at the QEH Theatre in Bristol. So I reckon they can be counted as individual sightings :)

saw the Strawbs at Trowbridge last year - saw them many more times back when Noah, and Dave Swarbrick :), were lads.
