from the Big Picture comes this tale of Sony's latest DRM tactics.

add this to the Sysinternals story about Sony CDs installing a Rootkit on users' PCs without so much as a by your leave.

firstly, I will never buy Sony again, and secondly - yet again - I am so pleased that my Windows days are far behind me.

woo ... interesting! (and most annoying if you run an OS subject to it)

Thankfully, I read "They’ll have to come up with a new approach to their rootkit sooner or later anyway, since system call hooking does not work at all on x64 64-bit versions of Windows." and breathed a sigh of relief as I'm now on WinXPx64 ...
