weekend 3/4 nov 07
Nov. 5th, 2007 07:25 amMany thanks to all for the birthday felicitations. I'm way too old to celebrate these things, but your good wishes were much appreciated.
Saturday started just fine and dandy, with a letter from the bank saying they'd bounced the mortgage (thanks, guys). This is because I forgot to remove the reference when I did the transfer from the business account to the personal account - both with the same bank, same branch - and so they held on to *our* money for an extra 48 hours; and have charged us £35 for the privilege. Sharp letter going their way today.
I spent most of Saturday rewriting a big wodge of code which was designed to run on ColdFusion 7 on Linux/Apache to work in ColdFusion 8 on IIS/Windows. And in a perverse way, I rather enjoyed it. That's really rather worrying. In the evening we consumed a bottle of vintage Pelorus, and ate Boeuf Stroganoff, as I really didn't feel like going out.
On Sunday,
perlmonger wasn't feeling too bright, so we had a lazy day, and slumped in front of the television watching "The Cassandra Crossing" in the afternoon - a load of enjoyable tosh, and better than you might expect. Last night we sallied forth to the Village Quiz for the first time in 3 months, due to other commitments - and we won! Go The Aliens! We put our prize of a tenner straight into the Poppy Pot - it seemed only right, as we were in the British Legion.
And now it's Monday. Oh ghod ...
