We bought this patio heater from a friend many years ago - it's never even had a gas cylinder fitted, never mind been lit.

Such patio heaters are now Bad and Wrong, and we try to be environmentally conscious. We were going to freecycle it, then it struck us that if it's not eco-friendly for us, it wouldn't be for anyone else. So [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger took it to bits, and he's taken it to the dump domestic disposal facility this morning

Wouldn't you like for them to make that decision for themselves? I mean, in some countries that might be the only source of heat some people would have. (Sorry, just the hoarder in me can't stand to throw *anything* away)

Well, I rather doubt that anyone from another country would be able to collect a patio heater from Somerset. And the whole *point* is that it's an incredibly inefficient way of heating, and so hardly useful in those circumstances.

Ooh I see enough metal there to make a nut roaster... or a huge outside stir fryer. The Burner can be moved to the underside and with the support struts that could be re purposed into a different kind of butane burning device - with more utility.

I bet it'll get reassembled ;)
