What book(s) are you reading, currently?
having just finished some very light reading in the form of Katie Fforde, I'm going to have another bash at Claire Tomalin's book about Samuel Pepys.
What music is playing? What other sounds can you hear?
no music right now. Main noise is the air conditioning unit (ghod bless it), and Iggy rowling in the background. He wants his supper, but as I'm throwing away more cat food than they're eating in this weather, he can wait.

which screen? I have two :) Visible are a Remote Desktop Connection into my XP machine running Semagic to post this. Also visible are Mice for IRC, Dreamweaver (I *will* get the cats' site makeover finished!), MSN Messenger, three terminal windows monitoring different things.
also running: on the Mac - Mulberry for mail, lots of Finder windows, Mozilla, IE and god knows what else. On the XP box: Ameol for CIX, Netscape 4 (for testiing, honest), Mozilla, IE and some Exploder windows.
What was the last thing you ate? Drank?
lunch was bread, hummous and cold chicken. Currently slurping some cold white wine, and trying to steel myself to go and make supper (home made burgers and salad)

Where are you? At work, at home? What room are you in?
at home, in the study. Where I spend most of my time.
What are you meant to be doing?
lots of stuff - working out how to parse the XML feed from an investor site. Working out how to do an AvantGo feed for a client site. Cooking supper (see above).

nothing much
Who was the last person you spoke to in person? On the phone? Online? How long ago was it?
spoke toperlmonger in person about 10 minutes ago (he's sitting in the garden reading Harry Potter). There are various LJ peeps on IRC. Last phone call was ... [checks caller ID] client at about 2 p.m. - quiet day on the phone, thankfully.
What's the last thing you bought in a shop? Over the interweb?
bought an Amazon gift voucher yesterday for the CIX Barbie raffle.
Are you feeling ill or achy or otherwise not well?
just hot and tired, I don't sleep at all well in this weather :(
Are you wearing any jewellery? A watch? Hair things? Makeup? Something else that is not clothes?
I hardly ever wear makeup. I have short hair. Jewellery wise, I'm wearing my wedding and engagement rings, and the Victorial opal ringperlmonger bought me for our first wedding anniversary, three gold bracelets, and two necklaces. These are things I wear all the time. No earrings at the moment. My varifocals specs (age is a terrible thing).
Are you sitting comfortably?
yes - this is a good chair.
