[livejournal.com profile] perlmonger: why isn't this custom tag working? It should work - I've checked the directory and it's there; I've restarted ColdFusion. Why doesn't it *work*.

I was staring at some non-working PHP code in a small include for 15 minutes earlier.

Eventually I realised why it wasn't working.

No "$" in front of the variables :-0

I'm doing that a lot in Perl now - I write so little as compared to cfscript and javascript these days, that I've lost my attunement with the camel. Perhaps I should rename myself...

I've gone the other way as I've dropped ust about all the javascript in favour of doing it on the server with PHP but at that point I'd just had to write my first bit of JS in months ...

(part of the reason for stopping with the JS is that too many people think it is a security hole and turn it off alongside turning off Java :-(
