I've no problem with my Christmas (or Tinselmas as I've taking to calling it ... I like glitter and fairy lights in the depth of winter) but I have a real problem at times with being force-fed other people's Christmases, especially in the supermarket, etc.
I loathe and detest the commercialism and the pressure of the Late Prophet's Day. perlmonger and I are known for not buying cards or presents (not even for each other), although we do put some branches and lights up; trees are a no go in this tiny house full of cats.
we prefer to buy things for people that we think they might like, when we see such.
which reminds me - I must order the tapestry kit for my friend Pat :)
Definitely want a couple of those! I hate that the shops are already (and have for a few weeks) been full of Christmas stuff, including decorations and cards. Now the kids are grown up we just treat the whole thing as a long weekend in most ways. The only decorations tend to be cards but we do have crackers and Christmas dinner. But why does it all happen in the middle of winter when the weather is not good for going out?
