well, that wasn't so bad
Jan. 18th, 2005 02:19 pmwe went to Wales this weekend to collect the Moose from fettlers
geoffcampbell and Niamh (WINOLJ), and spent a very enjoyable evening and overnight at Niamh's house with her partners Ken and Peggy, together with the aforementioned Geoff.
and on the way home, as I was in the MR2 on my own (
perlmonger had been designated MooseDriver), I did something that I hardly ever do, and do not enjoy.
I went shopping. For clothes.
it's a complete fallacy that all women like shopping - I hate going into town. It's full of people I don't know, and things I don't want to buy, and everyone pushes and it's *horrible*. And clothes shops don't cater for overweight badgers ... But we have a wedding to go to this week, and
perlmonger is best man, so something had to be done.
I stopped at the "Macarthur Glen designer outlet" at Bridgend - the very name is enough to strike fear into one's heart. But it was ok. I spent an hour in there, and came home with two good short-ish suit-type jackets, a long straight brown skirt, and a black hat and scarf (one must accessorise, darling). Which is odd, because I don't wear short jackets, or straight skirts - I can only imagine I have been brainwashed by Trinny and Susannah. To test this theory, while in Bristol yesterday (vile, vile), I bought two *slightly* clingy tops and a wraparound top.
and they all look reallyquite good not all that bad, considering. It seems they do know what they're doing, those two.
