we switched on the television last night to find everything in rather fetching shades of green and purple, and rather blurred, so it looks as though this set is for the scrapheap. It's actually rented, due to our total inertia in organising ourselves to buy something halfway decent, so I shall phone the rental company and tell them to Take It Away.
I popped into Currys (I know, I know) to see what they had, and was singularly unimpressed with the selection. We don't want lots of ittle bitty speakers - we pipe our television through a proper hi-fi system. And just where are you supposed to stash a digital cable box, a Tivo, a VCR and a DVD player in those little stands?
I also note that widescreen televisions are huge, and we have a tiny living room, so the whole room will be dwarfed by this hulking silver monster when we get it [sigh].
and the garage have just phoned and said the Ape needs two near rear tyes to get through its MOT, at £125 + all the usual gubbins. Each. Bugger.
