two envelopes in the post from North Somerset County Council this morning, informing me that my nomination papers to stand for NSCC in Easton-in-Gordano, and for Parish Council here in Long Ashton, are valid.

I'm petrified that I might actually *win* in EiG, which would be a disaster. I don't have time (seriously) to be a district councillor, but I said I'd stand to keep the numbers up. Still, it's staunch Tory, so it's most unlikely.

I do want to be elected in the village, though ...
