fuelled by our absolute determination to spend less time sitting in front of computers at the weekends, [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger and I sallied up to the gym at about 11.30 for a decent workout.

then we had lunch at the country club, sitting outside in the sun with the Sunday papers (it’s ridiculously warm for March, fergawdsakes), then took a drive across the Mendips and stopped in at the Blagden water garden centre to buy some food for the pond fish. We also managed to buy a water lily, two irii and a fritillaria, but then that’s what we do, really. We’re not fit to be let out ...

back by a different route across the Mendips, incorporating the wonderful run up Burrington Coombe - although the Moose is not really the ideal vehicle for that journey. Altogether a cracking Sunday,

and in other news, my favourite comfortable trousers are now too big, which is pretty impressive after only 2 weeks, really. Just checked my diary, to find that I have done either swimming, yoga or gym (and occasionally two out of three) for thirteen days out of the last fourteen. Go me!

Go You! indeeed. Wish I had that sort of willpower to do some weight losing rather than comfort eating ...

And it is warm, isn;t it. Took my mother out for a picnic for mum's day / her birthday ... nice, sunny, warm. Mark my words, Snow in May :-(

excellent message

don't know what finally pushed me to do something about it, but I'm very glad I did - my initial gym assessment showed that I have high blood pressure, so I need to get that down.

snow next week in Amsterdam, at least, as that's where I'll be at the weekend!
