it seems that both Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme are leaving The West Wing at the end of series 4 (the one currently airing in the US - series 3 is running on Channel 4 here now).

apparently the network are going to continue it, but TWW won't be TWW without Aaron Sorkin's writing :(

of course POTIS playing the Leo part, the head of national security pretending to be CJ, etc. etc. just complicate matters!
