well that's nice
Oct. 15th, 2003 09:05 amit would be even better if I knew who Worf was, of course, but as I'm not a SciFi fan ...
in other news, Pteppic is most definitely recovering - he ran away when we got the syringe out this morning :) So I shall have to sneak up on him with his potassium supplment, and squirt it into his mouth when he's off guard.

Date: 2003-10-15 01:49 am (UTC)Oh, time for Mr.Sad to be let out of the box
Date: 2003-10-15 03:03 am (UTC)He's been on Star Trek:The Next Generation (the one with the bald captain Picard, right?) and Star Trek:Deep Space Nine (the one with the bald captain Sisko ... oh, but Sisko is black!)
He's a "Klingon" (mighty warrior race, death in battle=good!) who were the enemies of Captain Kirk in the original series and basically took the part of the Russians, so of course in the newer series they have become "our" allies.
He took over the job as security officer in The Next Generation when Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) left, fairly early on.
His father was important in the military government of the Klingon homeworld but there was some disgrace which left the family shamed and Worf grew up with the family pretty much in exile or at least fairly despised.
He has risen through the ranks of the Federation and also managed to become very influential with the Klingons and after several key episodes has basically restored his family name. He has a son (sub-teenager named, er, ?Alexander?) who shows up occasionally.
He's had romantic liaisons with a couple of the female main characters, but says that he would snap a normal female human in half if he wasn't careful(!)
He's a master of the bat'leth (a stupid shaped sort of massive batarang crossed with a stainless steel flattened set of antlers!) and is one of the few "characters" that actually develops during the runs of the two mentioned Star Trek series.
Klingons have a saying "Today is a good day to die", usually said before entering battle, and a good thing to remember when you look into the bathroom mirror in the morning!!!
And now back to your usual non-sad friend comments ... :-)
