for reasons known only to himself (he certainly hasn't shared them with us) our landlord has decreed that this week is the week to replace our central heating system. No matter than there's an arctic front heading our way, apparently *now* is a really good time to leave us without central heating and hot water, given that the forecast for tonight is -4, and tomorrow -7.
the plumbers are downstairs shaking their heads at the antiquity of the current system, which doesn't bode very well. When might they finish? - "it's very difficult to say". The landlord has brought some electric fan heaters, but they give me a ferocious headache ..
so think of us, and send warm blankets and hot soup, please.

Date: 2004-01-27 02:07 am (UTC)erm, can't you just tell the landlord to feck off and deny the plumbers access till the cold snap has passed?
Or throw landlord out and move into his pad !

Date: 2004-01-27 02:14 am (UTC)he's done all he can to minimise the disruption - four electric heaters, and an allowance for running them, and he's paying the plumbers extra money for them to do things in a way that minimises the downtime.
but we're dreading the disruption :(
