distressing - I know that every single one of my friends (or, at least, those with whom I've discussed it) is horrified by Blunkett's surreptious dragging of us all into a police state.

but it would seem that we are a minority, if this BBC Talking Point is anything to go by.

I posted a comment where I "stole" the identity of "Mark B" (since his comment was particularly dreadful) to make the point that since he has nothing to hide, if I were a terrorist, I might think him perfect for identity theft. Once Blunkett's jackbooted hordes caught up with the real Mark B, disbelieved his woeful tale of id theft and detained him without trial, how would he feel?
