software pirates
Mar. 3rd, 2004 02:19 pmI've been meaning to buy a copy of Toast Titanium CD/DVD burning software for Mac for ages, and never got round to it. However, today the need to burn a load of stuff to DVD became urgent, and so I took myself off to www.roxio.com.
lovely - $89.95 for the download version, which is bloody good value with the exchange rate where it is. So I ordered it, and got to the checkout, only to find that it wouldn't allow me to be from somewhere other than US or Canada. Rummaged around to find a UK version of the site, and guess what?
for us UK customers, you can only buy a boxed version, at £69.99, if you please, *plus* delivery. It's an outrage.
I'll go burn my DVDs on my XP machine with Nero, and fuck you, Roxio. I shall be sending them a fairly Polite e-mail.

ah - I was mistaken. You can buy a download version, but they don't offer it when you click the "Buy Now" button. I wonder why that is?
