was good in parts.

Saturday morning was lazy, and we breakfasted on crumpets (and honey, in my case). Then we took a letter over to the thieving gits (see (friends only) LJ postings passim). We wrote off the £500, mainly because we want no more contact with them, and gave them till 14/4 to sort out their e-mail/domains. A fair compromise.

then off to the horror that is The Maul. Stopped off at Vision Express to see if they could mend my specs, which they did after a fashion - made an appointment for next Friday to have eyes tested and get new glasses. Then bought a new phone - Motorola V600, very sweet. Apparently you can't get a phone *without* a bloody camera these days.

then a panini in Costa, and round to Makro to buy tons of cat litter, fud, etc., then home to steak and chips, and Love Actually, which although obviously a heap of steaming shite, I found most enjoyable.

both [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger and I slept badly - the upset over the thieving gits had brought some bad dreams for him, but hopefully we can put it behind us now. I had a big proposal to write for a new client, so he did the Sainsburys run, then popped over to B&Q to get new locks (TTG had keys to the house). The patio door looks far too complicated, but he's done the front door with a proper deadlock at last. [note to self: find locksmith]

while he did that, I spent a couple of hours wrestling with a bought in shopping cart, which refused to work, and I couldn't see why not. Eventually I discovered that it needed a later version of mySQL than we're running [doh] - why on earth can't they *say* this clearly on their web site? So not an especially good day - stressful, and much of it spent apart.

relaxed in the evening with comfort fud - a tub of [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger's most exellent chili from the freezer, and I made a sticky toffee pudding to cheer us up (oink). And we watched Prizzi's Honour, which I haven't seen in years, and we picked up at Makro for the princely sum of £3.99.

so there it was - not very exciting, really, was it?

1) Good luck with TTG
2) Patio door ... if it is the sliding kind, then a stick the correct length laid in the inside track makes a wonderful way of stopping anyone opening the door
3) "shopping cart" ... took me nearly five seconds to realise you didn't mean a wire shopping basket with wheels!

I've never seen Prizzi's Honour, should I?
