I bought the second and third series pre-owned from someone on on CIX because a few people had said it was worth watching, but we've only just got round to buying series 1.
Oh, it's fab all right. I don't watch a great amount of telly these days but this is as close to "appointment tv" as it gets. And Lorraine Bracco is a babe, and James Gandolfini is intensely cool, kind of like Al Pacino only more down to earth. Even the soundtrack by Alabama 3 sounds great in the context. Americans make a lot of trashy television, no doubt about it, but when they get it right, they get it right with knobs on.
Never seen it..It started being on the box when I was missing more than I was watching, then I never played catch-up. I'll be a happy camper as long as CSI (and CSI Miami) keeps getting churned out!
I saw some of it when we had HBO. After 2 episodes, I decided that I hated it. Too much violence and male posturing and plot predictability. I also saw Oz and I liked that a little better, especially the chap who played the role of the plot chorus.
