Sunday was quiet - I slept badly, probably due to going to bed too late on Saturday, and felt grotty all day. perlmonger was fired with energy, and cut the grass, and chopped down tree branches, and then nobly did the Sainsburys run. *And* I got the washing dry outside.

when he left, I flicked through the cable channels and found Gone with the Wind had just started. I would never buy the DVD, but I do enjoy it, so that took care of my Sunday afternoon.

got a duck out of the freezer in the morning to roast for dinner, but the bloody thing had giblets in, and they didn't thaw enough for me to haul them out of the cavity ... so we had my bastardised version of Potatoes Dauphinoise with some salad, and very nice it was too. Crawled off to bed at about 10.15, and slept like a log.

however, woke up this morning with a stonking headache, although ibuprofen seem to be keeping it at bay. I whizzed over to the other Sainsburys this morning to get a couple of things that our local one didn't have yesterday while perlmonger was at the gym, then this afternoon we went down to the garden centre to get some fish food for the koi in the pond.

the duck (duly thawed) is in the oven, ready to have with roast potatoes and watercress salad, followed by profiteroles. And we still have 1.5 series of The Sopranos to watch, so we'll do a few episodes tonight.

all in all, a quiet weekend, but a nice one. And now - time for a glass of wine, I think
