... that the Midwich kittens are positively *hypnotised* by the water dripping into the bowl down here. I must get [livejournal.com profile] perlmonger to rig up some sort of permanent water dripping feature, as it actually kept them still for, oh, all of four minutes.

I have an adolescent cat whose greatest delight is to follow her humans to the toilet so that she can sit on the toilet seat after they've finished and watch the water flush. This is becoming increasingly annoying as she is becoming rather pushy about getting to her special viewing spot. On the other hand, it's practically impossible to lose her in the house; all it requires is for me to head in the appropriate direction and she comes galloping up.

(The washing machine also holds a certain allure, but only intermittently. I think she hasn't realised that's water in there, behind that glass.)

yerrst...

We have Aliss, who curls up right in front of the toilet bowl, and is Maine Coon Large and possessed of considerable Attitude. This is not easy to deal with whether sitting or standing.

We also have Radcliffe, or possibly Chloe, the Midwich Kitten with the golden eyes and slightly larger extension into human-perceptible spacetime: Chloe, or possibly Radcliffe, climbs up onto the toilet seat behind me. This is not relaxing either. She never does this to [livejournal.com profile] ramtops; I'm not at all sure what to conclude from this.

however, you must be thankful that you have never experienced a bath with *any* of the Tribe waltzing up and down the edge, learning "reversing on a very narrow ledge with added watery excitement".

nor have you shared the aforementioned bath, however briefly and inadvertently with the Prince of Darkness.

Ah, now Minnow also climbs up onto the toilet seat behind me - cold nose on bare skin is not as enticing as she seems to think (though I'm reassured to hear she's not the only cat who does this). She has lately, however, taken to using the quickest route to the back of the seat, such is her need to be there, which involves leaping onto the front of the seat just after I stand up. It tickles but I can't say I derive a great deal of pleasure from this. I'm too preoccupied with wondering if it is really hygienic.

Pebbles and Calli both used to come into the loo first thing in the morning and want to jump on my knee - only one at a time thankfully. Pebbles would then jump via the pile of papers onto the cistern and when I leaned forward to pick up a book she would walk onto my back. Jeffster and Ben both like to sit between my feet ;-)

One of my cats loves to watch the washing mashine. I can watch her little head moving in tiny circles as she watches one sock go around and around, until she can't stand it anymore, launches herself at the machine door, and bats at the glass trying to catch the sock.
